Galaxy EVO - File Description

At one time the Galaxy Class was the flagship of the Federation. She was the largest and most advanced ship ever constructed at the time, with the main purpose of deep space exploration, and the first ship to ever be able to separate into two independent sections, and reconnect on its own.

As time went on, the ability to separate the saucer proved to be more of a curse than a blessing, since the saucer section could not go to warp, which meant she was an easy target if in a fire fight, and would be in great danger should the stardrive section need to be evacuated due to a warp core breach, since the saucer could not move away fast enough to escape the shockwave of the exploding stardrive. The Dominion War also proved that the Galaxy Class was slightly lacking in firepower.

In the late 24th Century, after the Dominion War and additional confrontations with the Borg, Starfleet designers and engineers decided to begin designing a major refit of the Galaxy-Class, increasing her combat capabilities significantly, as well as equipping the saucer section with warp drive capabilities, modifying the stardrive section with variable geometry nacelles, 10 cm of ablative hull armor, incorporating the latest in computer technology, bio-neural circuitry, and scientific research technology, to compensate for the new design of the saucer section, and adding multivectral shielding.

The U.S.S. Titan was ordered to be the testbed for this new refit, and after her shakedown cruise was successfully completed, Starfleet ordered all Galaxy-Class starships to undergo immediate refit to the new specifications, and also placed an order for new Galaxy Class ships of this design to be constructed. The new refit for the Galaxy Class enables her to continue her original mission of deep space exploration, but in a combat situation, she can hold her own with ships her size and larger, and can even outgun a Sovereign Class.

This ship was intended for use in a patched, unmodded version of SFC3, and has only been tested with the 534b patch.

I personally have no problems with this ship being converted to other versions of SFC, or even other games, but you must seek the approval of LC/ Legacy before such attempts are made. Edit: LC/Legacy can be reached at http://www.teamlynxifer.co.uk/bcn/index.php and sending him a PM

If this ship is to be converted, this readme is to be included in its unaltered state, along with the readme for the original model/s, also in their unaltered state.

Hi all. Just thought I'd take a look to see how the ship was doing on her first day out of spacedock. Just noticed a mistake with the readme file, but it's only in the endnotes. I usually use another readme file when making the readme for a new ship, and I accidentally missed the bit of WZ's name on here in the Endnotes.. To LC, if he should read this, my apologies for that oversight, but I did name you as the author and creator. Thanks.

Hey correct me if i'm wrong but starfleet is not in the habit of naming two ships with the same name... so isn't the USS TITAN a LUNA class vessel? (luna or lunar can't remember but i know it's one of the two)

Zxien, this was made before the official release of the Luna-class vessel, for Star Trek: Bridge Commander. That's why it's different.

i agree, however if you check in the star trek encyclopedia, there are many ships of the same name......

The titans i know of:

USS Titan -Luna class
USS Titan -Galaxy "EVO" class
USS Titan -Titan Class
USS Titan - Titan Class (galaxy total refit)
USS Titan - (unknown) -Riker's ship at the end of Nemesis

I love this ship! I use it all the time in Bridge Commander, I had no idea it was available for SFCIII. Yeah, this is awsome!

The warp nacelles on the saucer won't work because the warp fields they generate can't interact (that's why one of the rules of Star Trek ship design is "at least 50% line of sight between nacelles"wink.
The design of the new part itself is however very interesting and very (post-) Sovereign-era-like. I'd recommend redesigning the central part of the stardrive section, modify the saucer nacelles and call it a completely new class.
