I would like to introduce Mr. Scott K. Haskin, who has composed new music tracks for the new release of SFC3:Rexpansion! Enjoy the new music which no one has listened before!

Installer Options gives you More Scalability!
With the new scripted installer, you may now choose to install the different components to your hard drive. The components are categorized and can be (dis)selected independently.

Canon Specs, or More Fan Designs?

Play with SFC3:Rexpansion "Lite" specs to have only Canon new ships added, or switch to Full 2009 specs which includes more fan designed new ships, just in one click from your start menu!

Access Custom Skirmish scenarios as, or against Dominion!

Four skirmish examples are included in FleetPick for you to command Dominion fleet and conquer Alpha quadrant. Or you may use Spawn 2.0 to engage the great "Bug Hunt"!

Star Trek: Starfleet Command III
SFC3 v1.01 beta2 build 534B Patch
400 MB hard drive space

Please do not install DirectX9 fix, Nemesis addon, and/or other mods before installing this mod.

Warning:
This mod might make your saved games and customloadout unplayable.
In order to save disk space, texture files which are no longer used by sfc3 & the mod will be automatically deleted during installation.
The original sound will be overwritten by this mod. Please backup it manually yourself.

How to install:
Install to where your SFC3 is installed. The setup wizard will detect the path from your registry, or you may choose to install it to a different folder.

I think it's great but only one thing do we fight anything other than Borg I mean I would not ming fighting some deminion or something other than Borg

Which campaign are you playing? You should be able to move into Cardassian space and engage Dominion ships there.

I am admittedly a newbie when it comes to understanding how to Mod games. Which is why I was hoping that someone could assist me in figuring out how to make my game run after downloading this Mod. It seems that I am getting an "Unhandled Exception" every time I try to play... Is there something that I can do to fix this problem? Thanks in advance!

Great stuff breathing new life into an old game! In conquest mode, though, it's not much of a conquest if the Romulans and the Klingons want to be your friends. Any way to correct that?

You need to open MetaMap.gf file with notepad and change political tension yourself. I will not "correct" it because if I do, someone else will ask me to "correct" it back.

I cant get this working, I ran the installer after I had being playing the upgrade SFC3 the beta build version which worked fine. I installed the .exe and can see the likes of the new curser in the game but cant play any campaigns it just freezes on the loading screen, I tried a few times...any idea's?

Hello,
Please switch to stock 534B from the start menu shortcut, and try the campaign again. If you cannot find the shortcut, run "sfc3stock534b.exe" in your sfc3 folder.

The mod installer set sfc3.exe with win2000 compatibility by default, it should solve Unhandled Exception for some winxp system. You may try other settings if there's problem with Vista.

I'm unable to get the Shield Rings to illuminate. I've clicked on the Enable before I start SFC3 and I've tried while I'm playing SFC3 (going back to desktop).
I'm running Vista and have the SFC3 compatibility settings set to Disable Visual Themes and run program in Admin mode.
Other than this, overall the graphics, music score and overall functionality are awesome. Thank you.

Go sfc3/assets/textures folder, there are fx1.bmp and fx1_orig.bmp. Delete fx1.bmp and rename fx1_orig.bmp to fx1.bmp. That should work.

Hi all!

I like this mod very much. But if i choose a mission in the campaign (for example in the fed mini-dw campaign with the large map) i can only fight borg ships.

Is there a chance to correct that?

I know i can move to cardassian space, but even there, when i choose a mission it is fighting against borg ships. I only fight other ships when i directly attack a dominion ship.

I think its the same in the other campaigns. Is it a bug?
Are the developers of this mod are going to correct this?

No. It's not a bug. It's a known limitation. Until I can find someone who can wrote new missions for SFC3, it remains that way. Sorry.

Some missions in the small map can allow you fight Dominion ships in random missions. Please try if it works for you.

Yes, i have tested it. In the small map there are other mission scripts runing. Maybe we can use the same scipts from the small map in the large map? Or delete the "borg" mission scripts?

Open the specific .mct files with notepad, and edit the mission script list. I use EEK missions for large map campaign. You can copy the mission list of small map campaign and paste it.

You are just like others. you just have to have HIGH POLY COUNTS!!!!!!!!!!

You dont need high poly counts to have a good mod, geez!

Vanilla SFC3 ran fine on my PC, but your HIGH POLY AKIRA DROPS MY FPS TO 10FPS! You need to re-release this with the lower-end PC user in mind.

I test my mod on the following specs:
Intel Pentium-III 900mhz, SIS630 IGP (7 years old laptop)
AMD Duron 1Ghz, nVidia TNT2 m64 (8 years old PC)
VIA C7-M 1.2Ghz, Chrome9 IGP (a HP netbook)

They all run fine with average 30+ fps. If you still encounter low fps problems, set the details lower in the game options settings (refer to your manual for more info). The models are mostly medium poly counts by today's standard. Most people, actually, complains that they are too low quality.

Please make sure you followed the correct install instructions:

For now, first thing to do is uninstall your SFC3, delete the sfc3 folder and follow the above instructions again.

Before anyone says "check your compatibility settings and follow the instructions", I have and did, I am a very competant game modder/cracker..

I reallllly like the stability of the ReXpansion 2009 mod, but the textures are not the best and the ships and missions (scripts) are very limited..

I love the added content in the SFC3: Update Mod, but for some reason the game keeps locking up (not responding) for long periods at random intervals. However, the ReXpansion 2009 Mod has no problems whatsoever with lock ups..

Thus i was hoping the creators could possibly get together and simply add the scripting and textures from the "Update Mod" to the ReXpansion 2009 mod, essentially combining them...

This, I believe, would make the ultimate mod for SFCIII, and would also allow me to play the Update mod content without pulling my hair out stick out tongue

Just a suggestion ...

Actually, it's possibly the changes you want from SFC3: Upgrade mod that caused program freeze and other problems. During development of my mod, I have tried several experiments. Some of them will cause instability or crashes randomly, and I couldn't find solutions to resolve them. Therefore I have to leave them out of the mod, although some are really nice features and available in other mods.

Hello,
If you installed the mod in Vista/win7, please right click the installer and run it as administrator. After installed, go to sfc3 folder and run sfc3rex.exe as administrator again to make sure it overwrites all files.

Hi yochenhsieh, I am the creator of the SF3 Upgrade Mod and I'm curious about your experiments that caused lockups. Can you give me a list of things that caused instabilities, so I can try to patch my mod? I'm pretty much clueless about the causes of the lockups though my gut says it has something to do with the rate at which AI-ships are created.

It usually has something to do with the NPC races, either loadouts, maps, or scripts. But I just cannot figure out how other mods make them work without any problem, so I only have cardassian(which includes breen and dominion ships) present in campaign map.

However, this is just my experience. Perhaps it's different in your own mod.

The only technical problems my mod has are lockups (the game resumes after a minute or so) while between missions in conquest campaigns, after having played for a while, crashes are too infrequent to be a problem in my mod. Since lockups happen between, and not during, missions I doubt scripts have anything to do with them. I don't think loadouts have anything to do with lockups either because I have a high refresh rate of starships, so when playing you'll encounter all types of ships from the start, but the lockups only appear after a while (suggesting a memory leak of some sort). I did add 3 races to the map, so I could check that out, thanks!
