SFC3 Pirate Replacement Mod (1.0) - File Description  


Description:
This mod will replace the oversized and bland stock Pirate frigate and cruiser with the Orion Pirate X-Ships from SFC:OP which were ported by Darkdrone several years ago.

This does not include any spec file changes, so the ship stats and balance will not be affected in your game. This will work with both stock installations and existing mods that still use the stock models, such as the SFC3 ReExpansion 2009.

I have updated the weapons hardpoints on the models so that weapons should fire from appropriate locations. Damage textures have also been added thanks to Yo-Cheng Hsieh's template found in his mod.

SFC Pirate Replacement Mod

Installation:
-------------

1. Back up both the PirateFrigate and PirateLtCruiser folders in your sfc3assetsmodels directory.

2. Copy the folders from this archive into that folder.

3. Load up and play.

Notes:
------

These models have had their weapon hardpoints corrected to fire correctly. The use the same stats as the stock game.

In order to make this little modification compatible with many modded SFC3 installations that still use the stock pirate ships, I have not included any spec file changes.

To correct the shield ring size in game, I recommend resucing the ShipSize attribute in the DefaultCore.txt file in the specs folder. I found a size of 625 for the frigate, and 1265 for the light cruiser to be about right.

Posts: 22 		Very nice. One tip for anyone using Vista....you have to clear out the breakmod file for both ships in your user files.

Posts: 179 		The credit of damage textures template in my mod should be given to knox1711, because the oldest file was found in his wolf 359 kitbashes of P81's ships.

Nonetheless, the textures was only conjectured to be made by knox1711. If any one know who the original author is, please shed a light.
