SFCIII HardPoint Placer (1.9.9) - File Description  


Description:
A utility for arranging the hardpoints (in the GF file) that appear on a ship's picture in the Vessel Library, refit screen, and in-battle targeting interface. Note: This utility does not add hardpoints to the specs; you will have to do this manually.

A ship's .mod file is required in order to edit the ship. If there is no GF file present, one is automatically generated.

HardPoint placement has been enhanced in this version via the ability to snap, lock, use crosshairs, load other ship layouts, and more.

Help documentation has been added, just go to Help -> Help to access it. It includes straightforward tips on the features of the utility. So if you have any questions, consult it first.

This is the FINAL release of this utility. I believe I've added enough features to make using it as easy an fun as possible without bogging it down with useless complexity. Enjoy...

Note: If you do not already have the java runtime, the exe will prompt you to download it and send you to the appropriate site if ok'ed by the user.

Requirements: Java Runtime v1.6 (Java SE 6) or above: http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Known bugs: none

--Bugs Fixed During Beta Testing (pre version 1.0):
-file name inconsistencies (i.e. "sovereign" and "Sovereign" are treated as two different names) are now fixed
-GF file output now readable by D'deridex's HP Placer
-Utility now remembers last selected path
-Window can now be minimized without the HP positions going screwy
-You can now select a _brk MOD file instead of the normal MOD file, and the program will continue to function properly
-Window can now be resized but resizing has been disabled
-More errors and issues with odd file formattings resolved
-Error reading blank GF Files fixed
-Cursor no longer snaps to top left of HP upon drag, it will stay where you initially grab the HP

--New in version 1.2.8 (20 August 2008):
-UI source code rewrite
-HardPoints cannot be moved outside their respective placement areas
-HardPoints can now be moved according to grid size. Sizes are: Normal (1 Pixel), 5 Pixels, 10 Pixels, and 15 Pixels
-"Restore Layout" in "Options menu" moves all HardPoints back to their intial load positions
-"Crosshairs" can be toggled to allow precision HardPoint placement

--New in version 1.6.7 (25 February 2009):
-Source code rewrite
-"Copy Layout From..." in "Edit" menu allows for copying the HardPoint layout of another ship for use in the already loaded ship
-"Restore Layout" moved to "Commands" menu
-"Clear Layout" in "Commands" menu removes all HardPoints from the layout
-Right click menu for HardPoints allows for snapping to preselected Guide Hardpoint's row or column for accurate alignment
-Right click menu also allows for restoring a HardPoint to the loaded layout, removing the HardPoint from the layout entirely, or locking the HardPoint to prevent it from being accidentally moved.
-"Help..." in "Help" menu added but leads to a "Under Construction" dialog window... should be fully implemented in final version.

--New in version 1.9.5 (12 May 2009):
-Placement fields operate independently in regard to guidance hardpoints (both fields can now have their own guide hp)
-Help -> Help menu item now opens chm help documentation

--New in version 1.9.9 (20 May 2009):
-TI HardPoint images have been given a trek font similar to that of the VL HardPoints
-GF layout files are read like INI files now rather than parsing

One: You can place it anywhere

Two: There's a help file included, just go to Help -> Help

in defaultcore you can set 25 hardpoints, but your hard point placer got just 24 hard point icons. Why??
