Description:
A utility for editing the refit items found in the CommonSettings.

If you find any errors, please post a comment describing it in full detail as best as you can.... any comments and/or suggestions welcomed!

This version (0.9.5) is a straight up editor... no fancy-smancy extras... just wanting to see if anyone can find any bugs and whatnot with the basics before I go adding special features... please click everything! alot of stuff will have comments associated with it, so have fun... I've tested it and the game runs without any visible problems... NOW FIND THEM BUGS!!!

well...I'd like to know where would I go to make the AI more agressive. Is this something in the Commonsettings folder? Be nice if they actually laid antimatter mines that I refitted with the ships. I lay them but the AI just won't do it.

yeah, the AI never use antimatter mines!
they always use mines when there is no antimatter minelayer on the ship, but when it has one, they never use them

bummer...oh well, hope to have my very own mod up soon. Nothing to spectacular...just a very well adjusted out of the box - better ships, weapons, AI, etc...

anywho, this would have been really useful about a month ago...the original game even with the patch has many typos in the core/default files. I'm sure if I tried to use it now it would show many of my "tweeks" as errors.wink

What kinds of typos? I've built it to catch certain ones, and actually correct them if you save.

Oh, hard points. 300_30 instead of 330_30...and extra tab spaces in the loadout file on a couple of ships.

Oh, but this utility doesn't touch the specs... it only reads and writes to the CommonSettings... that is it...

Perhaps call it "common settings editor" to prevent confusion?

It doesn't edit all the CommonSettings. DefaultLoadOut and arcs are Specs territory.

How exactly do you get this to work, seems to be what i am after but i cant seem to get any items to show up in the editor.

I have to same problem has GibberX no matter what I do I cant get any items to show up.

Instill the SFCIII Refit Items Editor BETA (0.9.5) first the I instill Runtime v1.5 and thats all I did I dont know I have to do some thin els or what. Its dont show any items at all.

Please tell me ya'll are using File->Select Game Directory->browse to your game's sfc3.exe file and select it so that it can load the files? There shouldn't be any problems.

I'll eventually get back to this and finalize it with the utility as a whole.
