TNG Mega Mod Single File Download - File Description  


Description:
WELCOME TO THE TNG MEGA MOD FOR SFC3. SINGLE FILE DOWNLOAD -- all SIX parts contained here. - Put together by Chris Jones and based on the Capt. Ravenous/Chris Jones re-balancing mod released in Nov. 2002.

This mod is compatible with the 531 patch IF you get the 531 update here:

This File will detect where SFC3 is on your PC.


You will end up with several files on your desktop.

TNG Mega Mod.bat activates this mod.
SFC3Orig returns you to the original game.

Here's a treat:

The new Galaxy Class is a Knox1711 conversion/kitbash. He did several registries. One for the Enterprise D, the original USS Galaxy, the USS Odyssey that was destroyed when a Jem Hadar Fighter rammed it, and the Venture class Dominion War re-fit Galaxy. I have included batch files (on your desktop) that will switch to which Galaxy hull you wish to play! cool or what?... HAVE A BLAST!


Some new textures will be installed. Orange smoke instead of purple is one.. new atmosphere look for planets.

Orig.bat puts the game back to its original state before you intalled this. (if, of course, you backed up the models mentioned above) If you did not back up the models above, you can still play online on GSA and with your unmodded friends, and you will see new versions of the Galaxy, Nebula, Sovereign, Intrepid, and Akira while your friends will see the original game models.
The Galaxy Batch files let you select which Galaxy hull you wish to play. Enterprise D, USS Galaxy, USS Odyssey, USS Venture.

There's a Dominion Wars.bat sitting in the game directoty for variety as you can select to play just that. Dominion Wars was the 1st part of this mega-mod released early January 2003.


There is some new audio here. Look in a directory called Dominion Wars audio in your game directory, and the sounds and voices to your game per these instructions:

To install the new audio... use Winzip with no compression. Open Winzip and Windows Explorer at the same time. Browse to your game directory and look for the 'Dominion Wars Audio' folder. Open up the folder inside there called SFCVoice. In Winzip open the file assetssoundSFCVoice.zip. Drag all the sounds in the SFCVoice Folder into the zip file, making sure compression is set to none ('store' if using Winrar). Add the files.

Do the same for the SFCSounds. Open up SFCSounds.zip in Winzip.

This procedure will greatly enhance your Dominion Wars/TNG Experience, and is required to have the audio work correctly.

The Federation gets some new audio to make things seem more authentic, as well as the Dominion.

Due to the way this mod had to be done, The Romulans are with the Klingons and will lose thier own exclusive audio. You will hear some Romulan audio with the Dominion. There are new taunts! Gul Dukat, Legate Damar, Weyoun, Jem Hadar (Victory is Life!), and the Founder.

STARFLEET COMMAND III
THE WRATH OF RAVENOUS' REBALANCING
a mod for SFC3

This mod was created solely for the purpose of bringing the look and feel of TNG Trek battles to your Starfleet Command game. Out of the box, SFC3 looks and feels like the old SFC games, but with TNG ships. This rebalancing mod brings you ships updated with actual starship data as a guide. All ships will come fully loaded already, its up to you to try different configurations. Will you sacrifice manueverability & speed for more weapons and better power? Or vice-versa? Will you take a weaker tractor for a better computer? The refit potential for ships remains endless, as before. This is how the game would have been out of the box had I been balancing the ships. This is what a TNG game should feel like. I hope you enjoy playing this as much as I do.

Eagle Eye made up a strings file that tells you the damage rating of each weapon in the refit screens of any ship. That is included here, in the both the mod and original files, and it has been adjusted for 1.02.


I very much debated leaving the Feds, Klingons, and Roms unto themselves and just put the Dominion, Cardassians, Breen in the Borg slot; but did not like the idea of those 3 races having regenerative armour. I went with the following:

Borg are here because they come with the game. I did not use the Borg slot for the Dominion Axis as it would be unfair for them to have regenerating hulls.


Although it never happened in any show, It might be interesting to see a Dominion Battleship take on a Borg Cube.

Aaargh!!! Gosh! This is a long download time and size! I really wish I could download it but I am 56K!
To shorten the download PLEASE put the exe in a RAR file with best compression and put that in another RAR file and another... keep puting the RAR in antother RAR till you get to 3 MB or 100K. I'd rather keep opening RAR files over and over till I get to the end then sit here for 3 hours and watch the world fireing papers into a folder for 3 hours!!! DO THAT PLEASE SOMEBODY!!!Aaargh!!!

This is a brill mod i've never seen such a brilliant giant mod as this. Chris you must of have worked hard to complete and make this mod.
(One down point, 56K internet connections warning this mod is 300MB!)

I don't know why but the problem is caused by the new beta-patch avaible on this site. Mods only seem to run with the old beta patch that came out last year.

I can't hear any photon torpedo sounds for the fed ships whenever i fire em. And yes, I did what I was supposed to with the sound packs for this mod, but the problem persists.

hi i dont knw if anyone else has this problem but i hv now downloaded this mod twice as so far both attempts to install it hv failed on 2%installed i hv reinstalled sfc3 many times to try resolvin this but i hv failed to get it installed can someone plz tell me where im goin wrong?

Hi!

This looks an awesome mod. I see from the pictures.
I would like to play, it, but I can't. Once I begin the installation I encounter crc errors. I retried the instalation again and again and found crc errors everytime.
How can you download this large file without crc errors?
I encounter this őroblem with other large sized files.

I have the latest drivers for my graphics card as the game worked before I put this mod on. I've never had problems with it before as when I've installed the game on this computer before the mod is the first thing I've downloaded. I've tried almost everything I can think of including downloading the update to 531 patch which someone in an earlier post said to try so please for the love of god help me

i can't get it to work... it loads up just fine but i got these weird shortcuts on my desktop... i installed all the files and it went to a kitbashed original... really weird... before i used said shortcuts it went well... but a few ships were missing and the cardassian freighter had the geometry lines visible for some reason... could someone tell me what the **** is going on here?!

This is a distress call to all registered members of Starfleet Command III files. I am a little frustrated and unhappy I had to register with Starfleet Command files in order to gain help. As of this writing I am not even certain if anyone will respond to my distress call.

I downloaded 3 items from this website there are

• The Ambassador Class Family by Cpt LC Amaral/Dreamyards
• Steamrunner class by Pneumonic81
• TNG Megamod Single file download by Chris Jones.

None of them work and what complicates matters is that the email address that were supplied proved to be incorrect or defunct. Any emails I sent just bounced back with an error message

I am told that some of the people who originally created Starfleet Command III also contributed to Starfleet Command III Files. I wish that the end product did have the Ambassador Class. I feel that the game would be complete then, while I would like more ships for my copy of Starfleet Command III. The Ambassador class is an absolute must.

Additionally it would also be nice if I could figure out how to fly or customise the shuttles the freighters and the pirates and Rakelli ships.

Can I use this opportunity to ask if it is essential to have WinZip in order to be able to add contents of new files. I don’t have this facility and would have to purchase it however I have been able to view file contents by selecting

Open with
Compressed (Zipped) folders.

I dont exactly have "SFC III." Are there any mods that DO NOT --require-- you to have SFC III? It looks cool. If not, I guess time to go to SFC website 2 buy it!

I istalled the Mega mod just by foolowing the instructuion that come on the down load page and it works fine. Just follow instructions and it should work okay.

it pushes the download speed or tries to get the Kbp/s Or Mbp/s to the max of u internet connection, if it doesn't it isn't the internet connection, it's the websites bandwith

well i have just got this on my laptop and done some editing and fixed the problem with missing planets in single player removed a few other bits that can cause problems on single player. Played through entire campaign on every race and no problems at all working on a few things still but gotta ask permisson to release
