Terra Prime (v0.75 Beta) - File Description

Description:
This mod contains about 60 new, never before released ship models for nine different races and several freighter/civilian ships. This mod is not finished; it is about at 75% of where I originally intended it to be completed. It has been released to perk interest and support. Some obvious things missing include break models and single player campaigns. Some races could use more ships. The Borg race slot has been replaced with the "Terra Prime Races" and all races and ships have been grouped together under this heading. The New ships are only available in Skirmish mode. The Borg campaigns have been removed from single player campaign mod. Most ships are easily kitbashable, most models are compatible with most textures. I urge people to create their own ships, create their own races. I hope this can be a good change of pace, an island in a sea of redundant Trek mods, and maybe inspiration for those seeking to create or build on an original universe. If you create an original human race or ships that you would like added to the next installment of a Terra Prime Mod, I am certainly willing to work with you to pull it off as seamlessly as possible. If anyone has any additional input or ideas I am open to them, so please let me know.

Quite imaginative, really. With so many people doing what is basically the exact same star trek mod over and over again, with a few different ships and a different title (No offence, some of the Trek mods, like GAW, DomWars and Alt. Universe are really still quite good) it is nice to see some originality here. I'll give this file a try.

The planets and backgrounds in your screenshots look far better than the stock versions. eek!

Most likely the next release will contain these backgrounds.

I downloaded this mod and tried installing it twice but it doesnt seem to work, each time i click on skirmish from the main menu, the game crashes to desktop?
To instal it, i have been copying + pasting the downloaded files over those in the games installed location (assets, models etc). Is this all there is to it, or am i missing something?

After reading your comment, I checked back in my readme and found that I did not include detailed install instructions, my apologies.

You need a fresh install of SFCIII with the latest patch sfc3 beta patch v534_b found here:

Once you have downloaded the Terra Prime Mod, extract the file into your main SFCIII directory. Most versions of WinZip allow an extraction mode that maintains the file directory structure.

Prior to publishing this mod, I successfully installed it three times each on a fresh SFCIII install to ensure that it would work. E-mail me if you continue to have trouble.
