Venture Class - File Description  


Description:
The Sovereign Class is a fantastic ship of war, however, Starfleet quickly found that it lacked the space to conduct scientific research and exploration and at the same time house the specialists required to carry out these tasks. The Galaxy Class was ideal for these types of missions, but those that had not been destroyed in the Dominion War or twenty-year-old birds of prey were outfitted with heavy weaponry and had been converted over to a role of space control along the Federation's boarders. Hence, the Venture class Exploration heavy cruiser was born. While designed around the Ambassador Class space frame, Venture carries many of the non-lethal design and technology improvements used in the Sovereign Class while containing the space to carry out a more varied portfolio of missions. The economics of the times is seen in its smaller volume when compared to the Galaxy Class.

NOTE: Alternate texture and source file included!

You may use this ship in your mod, or kitbash it or what ever. You only need to let me know if you come up with something really good so that I can have fun with it too!

INSTALLATION:
Unzip the zip file into a folder by the same name as the ship model in the model Directory. Copy the CustomLoadOut.txt file into the specs folder. This will erase any custom ships made in game. If you currently have a CustomLoadOut.txt file, make a backup.

It's A Nice Looking Ship And All That But If This Is Ment To Be A Venture Then What Was Data Piloting In Star Trek Insurrection?

The Venture is a sub-type of Galaxy Class, the Ship Data used was never named & aside from the Odyssey (which was BEFORE the war) no Galaxy Class was shown to be destroyed in canon during the war.
