I started collecting names to create a reference listing for the STAR TREK - CONCORDIUM fan fiction series last year, even before I heard of SFCIII. First only Bright Star and Sovereign
AND NOW THERE ARE MORE THAN 1300 SHIPS (FROM apx. 2400 TOTAL IN SERVICE)
and the work goes on (Danube/Intruder Class and many more)

Rename the description files to what you need.
The shipnames.txt just contains the Federation section, copy the parts you need into your original. Alternatively unrar ORIG for the standard game or MEGA for Dominion Wars/TNG Mega Mod.

All numbers and names are from the Fleet Board 2381 (29.1.2381, that is more than two years ahead of the game)
The names and descriptions of the following classes are included:
ALLIANCE - FAST BATTLECRUISER
A modified stronger version of the Akira. You can use it for the standard Akira also.
AMBASSADOR - SCIENCE ASSAULT CRUISER
The standard Ambassador.
AVATAR - ATTACK BATTLECRUISER
An attack version of the ALLIANCE. Fifteen torpedoe launchers and a stronger shielding.
AVENGER - DIPLOMATIC TRANSPORT
A special transport version of the Valiant. Just add a klingon cloaking device.
BRIGHT STAR - DEEP SPACE BATTLESHIP
A modified version of the Galaxy. Replace the photon torps with quantum ones, use a larger shield and type XII's.
CALANDRA CTA - CIVILIAN ARMED TRANSPORT
The armed version of the Calandra. Put a torp and a few type X's on it.
CALANDRA CTM - CIVILIAN MULTIPURPOSE TRANSPORT
The standard freighter that comes with the game.
CAMOUFLAGE - RECONAISSANCE DESTROYER
A unmanned surveillance version of the Valiant. No torps, but cloak.
COPERNICUS - STARBASE
The biggest version of the starbase that comes with the game. It has more weapons than the game can handle.
DEFIANT - CLOAK DESTROYER
The U.S.S. Defiant. Four quantums, whoa.
DELTA - MULTIPURPOSE RUNABOUT
The Delta Flyer.
GETTYSBURG - COMMAND BATTLECRUISER
The command version of the Alliance. Better shielding and computer.
INTREPID/INTREPID II - FAST PATROL CRUISER
The standard Intrepid and its stronger variant (better shielding and phasers).
KAPETANOV - ATTACK CARRIER
An attack carrier based on the Alliance. Better shielding, a torp less and a whole bunch of shuttles and marines.
KONGO - MUSEUM VESSEL
The last of the Enterprises (Constitution Refit).
METEOR - PATROL FRIGATE
A Intrepid based missile defense frigate. Since the game doesn't support the special phasers it uses you can use the name for anything.
NEBULA - SCIENCE ASSAULT CRUISER
The standard Nebula.
NORWAY - DIPLOMATIC TRANSPORT
Not a destroyer but a transport. But as heavy armed as a Nebula.
NOVA - SURVEYOR
Equinox/Rhode Island. Armed like a shuttle but a little bigger.
OLYMPUS - ATTACK BATTLESHIP
The Galaxy X. Huge shielding, type XII's, quantums, pulse phasers and a klingon ion cannon.
PROMETHEUS - EXPERIMENTAL BATTLECRUISER
Prometheus. In the standard version a little weak since it cannot separate.
SABRE/SABRE II - HEAVY DESTROYER
Sabre and her better version (additional torp, two pulse phasers).
SALADIN - COMMAND ASSAULT CRUISER
The command Nebula, better computer, better shield, additional torp.
SOVEREIGN - HEAVY BATTLESHIP
Sovereign, what more can I say.
STEAMRUNNER - (MEDIUM) ASSAULT CRUISER
A medium warship.
STONEHAVEN - ASTEROID BASE
The Federation asteroid base.
TIBERIUS - STRIKE CRUISER
An Ingram (Excelsior Refit) with three missile racks. Since this is not SFCII use it for whatever you want.
TYPE 6 SHUTTLE - MULTIPURPOSE SHUTTLECRAFT
The Shuttle that comes original with the game.
TYPE 9 SHUTTLE - LIGHT SHUTTLECRAFT
Voyager's shuttle.
TYPE II DEFENSE PLATFORM
Federation's OWP
VALIANT - FAST DESTROYER
The standard version of the Defiant. Just one photorp and a weaker shield.
VOYAGER - EXPERIMENTAL PATROL CRUISER
Take an Intrepid and give it a big shield and Type XII's.
YAMAGUCHI - COMMAND ASSAULT CRUISER
The Ambassadors command version. Better shielding plus computer, additional torp.

for example if you purchase a defiant, it will put NX-74205 USS DEFIANT? and then the next time you buy a defiant it puts NCC 74526 USS ACHILLIES? |
