In Star Wars EU TIE Interceptors were equipt with shields after Palpatines death
LucasFilm says EU is quasi-canon

Posts: 124 | Alright, so one small ion storm and it's COOLANT LEAK - ABANDON SHIP but TIE fighters are cannon fodder, which is why there's so damn many of them (haven't you played Rogue Squadron?)
Besides this is a Star Trek community - Paramount will always crush 20th Century Fox around here

Inraged is right. TIEs were later equiped with shields (supposedly by grand admiral thrawn)
as for 100 at 3/8 impulse...that's the balance of dominion wars 4.0. the shuttle impulse drive (which the TIE was equipped with) was extremely powerful |
